Frequently asked questions
Practical answers about staying at Watonga Coastal Retreat. For anything not covered here, get in touch.
- How many guests can stay?
- Up to 12 guests across 4 bedrooms and 6 beds: three queen bedrooms, a twin room with two singles, a double sofa bed in the upstairs living area (available for bookings of 9 or more guests), and a trundle with two singles in the office.
- Are dogs allowed?
- Small dogs may be considered on request — please ask before booking and tell us your dog's breed and age. A maximum of two dogs applies, pets stay off beds and lounges, and cats can't be accommodated. Assistance animals are always welcome. The backyard is fully fenced, and dog-friendly beaches are walkable from the house.
- Is the pool heated?
- No — the private outdoor pool is not heated, so it's at its best through the warmer months. Please supervise children around water at all times.
- Is there really a sauna?
- Yes — an indoor sauna is available for guest use, with simple guidelines: shower before entering, wear swimwear, sit on a towel, and keep food, glass and devices out.
- How close are the beach and cafés?
- Lighthouse Beach is a 250-metre walk, the local children's playground is 200 metres away, and cafés, restaurants and gourmet shops are just around the corner. Tacking Point Lighthouse is about a kilometre from the house.
- Is linen provided?
- Yes. Linen and towels are provided, and all beds are made up fresh before you arrive — no lugging sheets on holiday.
- What are the check-in and check-out times?
- Check-in from 3pm and check-out by 11am, with self check-in via a key safe. Note that check-in and check-out aren't available on 25 December.
- Can we book it for a party or event?
- No. The house isn't available for events, school groups, under-21 groups, or bucks and hens parties, and quiet time runs 10pm–7am out of respect for the neighbours. It's a family and group holiday house, not a venue.
- Is parking available?
- Yes — driveway parking at the house, with free street parking nearby as well.
- What's the internet like? Can I work from the house?
- Fast 500 Mbps FTTP fibre WiFi covers the house, and there's a dedicated office with an electric sit-stand desk. A Smart TV (bring your own streaming logins) and a smart projector upstairs round out the tech.
