Watonga Coastal Retreat sits in Lighthouse Beach, one of Port Macquarie's most walkable coastal pockets — the beach, cafés and a children's playground are all a few minutes on foot.

• Lighthouse Beach — a 250m walk

  The sand is 250 metres from the front door, so morning swims and sunset walks don't need the car. A children's playground 200 metres away makes an easy detour with younger kids.

• Cafés, restaurants & gourmet shops

  The local café strip is just around the corner — breakfast, coffee, takeaway and gourmet provisions all within an easy stroll of the house.

• Tacking Point Lighthouse & whale watching

  Tacking Point Lighthouse and its viewing platform are about a kilometre away. Between May and November, migrating whales pass this stretch of coast — binoculars are provided at the house for whale and dolphin spotting.

• Dog-friendly beaches & walking trails
